The German tractor market has reported a 22.5% increase in new tractors sales over 51hp, according to the latest report from the industry group VDMA. The figures show that 2,034 new tractors were registered in May, up from 1,661 in May 2020.
The year-to-date figures show that 11,370 new tractors were registered in Germany, a 9.9% increase over the first five months of 2020. Based on those figures the VDMA expects that the full year market for new tractors in Germany will be in the region of 26,000, up about 13% on the 2020 figures.
The most popular tractor power in Germany is that over 150hp and this accounted for 973 of the new tractors sold in May of this year. This power band recorded a sales increase of 37.8% in May compared with a 32.4% increase in the 101 to 150hp power band group.
