New registrations of tractors in Germany in January 2025 were 18.9 percent lower than in the same month last year, according to the latest report from the Germany industry group VDMA. A total of 1,794 tractors were newly registered during the year. Overall, 418 fewer new tractors were registered in Germany in January 2025 compared with January 2024.
The sector of the German tractor market that recorded significant growth was the 201 to 250hp segment, which grew by 18%, while the overall market declined by a similar amount.

Eilbote, the German farm machinery dealers magazine is reporting that Fendt continued to be the market leader with 528 units or 29.4% market share. This was followed by John Deere (202/11.3%), Kubota (160/8.9%), Case IH/Steyr (147/8.2%) and Claas (121/6.7%), according to the Eilbote report.
