Opel unveils new digital Mokka

Opel has unveiled a newly updated Mokka that benefits from a crisper, even more contemporary style both on the outside and the inside. Available in petrol and hybrid from launch, with three trims – SC, Elegance and GS – the new compact SUV arrives on Opel dealership forecourts in Ireland this April, retailing from €29,995 plus delivery for the Mokka SC 1.2 136hp 6-speed manual. The new Mokka Electric, with 403km range, arrives in Ireland later in 2025.

Inside the new Opel Mokka, the entire cockpit design appears fresher. All fabrics are made from materials with recycled content. The new steering wheel, flattened at the top and bottom and made from vegan material, delivers a sporty character. The centre console between the front seats is in a matt silver tone.

The new multimedia and navigation infotainment system offers a 10” digital driver information display and large colour touchscreen as standard. The cockpit uses Qualcomm Technologies’ next generation platforms, to deliver state-of-the-art graphics, and enhanced connectivity capabilities such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G, with ChatGPT functionality and “Hey Opel” natural voice recognition.

Irish Mokka customers can choose from a 1.2 136hp petrol combustion engine for an entry-level price, or a petrol hybrid with 48-volt technology. The Mokka Hybrid combines a 100 kW (136 hp) 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor and an electrified six-speed dual-clutch transmission. Opel claims that the new technology enables fully electric travel up to 50% of the time in urban settings and will appeal to drivers who want electric driving without having to connect to a charger. Opel claims that the Hybrid model delivers a significant reduction in CO2 emissions and in fuel consumption.

Available in the near future, the new Mokka Electric with a 115kW (156 hp) electric motor and 54 kWh battery has an exemplary kerb weight of just 1,615 kilograms, offering up to 403km (WLTP) on a full charge.
