The latest report on the German tractor market, one of Europe’s biggest tractor sales regions shows that 2,797 new tractors were registered in September, a 24% increase, according to the latest report from farm machinery industry representative body VDMA. The year –to-date market increase was up 7.7% with the bulk of that increase taking place in the larger tractor power segment.
Registrations of larger tractors over 150hp continue to increase significantly in Germany and showed a 48% increase in September and an 11% increase year-on-year. The VDMA figures show that 1,040 new tractors over 150hp were registered in September, almost double the number of other power bands. Registrations of tractors over 300hp increased by more than 50% compared with September 2019 even though the year-to-date figures for this segment show a slight drop.
The VDMA is predicting a total new tractor market for Germany at over 20,600 for the year, slightly up on the 2019 market. Registrations of larger tractors over 150hp are expected to remain unchanged at over 30% of the total new tractor market in Germany in 2020.
