Toyota has unveiled the new Aygo X Prologue as a distinctive model for the small car A-segment of the market. The design aim has been to blend practicality for the free-spirited, the Aygo X prologue modern styling including rear skid plate houses, a bicycle-holder mount and an action camera housed in the door mirror. Toyota claims that this new SUV-type small car will deliver engaging driving dynamics for the style-savvy driver.
The new model was designed at Toyota’s European Design Headquarters, ED², located near Nice on the French Côte d’Azur, to bring even more boldness and spice to small car buyers.
Among the design challenges was the need to define and imagine what the A-segment could be for Toyota customers by fulfilling their needs and their desires. And, to prove that cars that have traditionally been called “entry point” can still lead with stand-out design.
With the Aygo X prologue, Toyota has given the car stronger stance. By bumping up the size of the wheels, the driver enjoys a higher eye point for greater visibility, as well as improved underbody clearance. The large grille, fog lamps and skid-plate, all building on the hexagon theme, hint that this is a car ready to go anywhere.
Steve Tormey, chief executive of Toyota Ireland commented on the announcement: “The Aygo X prologue is a bold and well-defined model which will be a great addition to the A- segment market in Ireland. We’re delighted to unveil this innovative creation, which lives and breathes our ethos of “no more boring cars”. A model built for adventure, with a distinctive design; this car will be perfect for customers who look to explore the world around them in style.”
